Original: U.S. military to conduct first firing squad execution since World War II
The United States military is preparing to carry out its first execution by firing squad since the Second World War, a method of capital punishment that has rarely been used in the modern era. The announcement has drawn wide attention and renewed debate over execution methods and the death penalty in the U.S. military justice system.
