The collaborative StorySeedLibrary project has published its 150th illustration, contributed by artist the_lemonaut. The piece depicts an OpenFlexure microscope and highlights open-hardware collaboration in engineering and science, something described as largely missing from solarpunk visual culture so far. Supporters of the solarpunk movement are discussing the image as a way of making do-it-yourself, openly shared scientific equipment more visible in imagined sustainable futures.

Why now: The milestone 150th entry in a popular community art project spotlights open hardware, a theme rarely depicted in solarpunk art.
