Developer launches near-exact clone of Hacker News
Original: Show HN: Pointless but mostly-exact clone of Hacker News
A developer who posts under the name sillysaurusx has built a mostly-exact clone of Hacker News and shared it as a 'Show HN' project. The clone, hosted at a separate web address, recreates the look and behaviour of the popular technology discussion site while describing itself as pointless. The project drew early attention and engagement from the community it copies.
Why now: It is a playful meta-project: a faithful replica of Hacker News shared on Hacker News itself, which amuses the community.
