Smart Blur Tool Auto-Blurs Personal Data in the Browser

Original: Show HN: Smart Blur – Auto-Blur PII in the Browser, with a OpenAI Local Model

A developer has launched Smart Blur, a browser-based tool that automatically detects and blurs personally identifiable information on web pages, running a local OpenAI model to keep data on-device. The tool is being shared and discussed among developers and privacy-minded users, with early interest focused on how well the local model handles detection without sending screenshots or text to the cloud.

Why now: Growing concern over privacy and sharing screenshots safely is driving interest in on-device PII redaction tools.
