Youth farming group says lack of land blocks training plans
Original: There are very many young people who need training in sustainable farming and caring for the environment but land still
A youth agriculture initiative, GYM, says large numbers of young people want training in sustainable farming and environmental care, but access to land remains the central obstacle to its vision. The group is seeking support to secure land that would serve as a practical training ground where young people can learn hands-on skills. The appeal highlights a wider problem facing youth-focused farming programmes: interest and willingness are there, but without secure plots, training ambitions stall.
Why now: The organisation is publicly appealing for support to buy land, drawing attention to the gap between youth interest in sustainable farming and the resources needed to train them.
