The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that severe flooding has displaced 241,000 people in South Sudan. The figure was issued in mid-October 2024 as floodwaters swept through communities, adding to the country's ongoing humanitarian strain. Aid agencies say displaced families need shelter, clean water and emergency assistance, and the scale of the displacement has drawn international concern.
