Labor accused of cynicism over pre-COP climate conference
Original: Labor is ‘taking the piss’ with pre-COP climate conference
Australia's Labor Party is being accused of insincerity, with critics saying the government is 'taking the piss' over its planned pre-COP climate conference. The charge is that hosting a lead-up event to the UN climate summit amounts to posturing rather than genuine climate action. Critics and commentators are questioning the gap between the government's climate rhetoric and its actual policy record.
