Ukrainian drones strike Ukhta oil refinery deep inside Russia
Original: Ukrainian attack drones reportedly penetrated more than 1,700 km of Russian airspace to strike Russia’s Ukhta oil refine
Ukrainian attack drones reportedly flew more than 1,700 km into Russian territory to hit the Ukhta oil refinery, starting a fire at the facility. If confirmed, it would mark one of the deepest Ukrainian drone strikes of the war, targeting energy infrastructure far from the front lines.
Why now: The strike's unprecedented depth into Russian airspace makes it a major escalation in the drone war against Russian oil infrastructure.
