Van Gogh Museum launches 'Open Up with Vincent' mental health initiative

Original: ‘Open Up with Vincent’: Addressing mental health at the Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has launched 'Open Up with Vincent', a programme addressing mental health through the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. The initiative, highlighted by the International Council of Museums, uses the painter's well-documented struggles to open conversations about mental wellbeing and reduce stigma around discussing mental health publicly.

Why now: Museums are increasingly being discussed as public spaces for addressing mental health awareness, and Van Gogh's own story makes this initiative resonate widely.
