Pentagon social media demands may collide with platform content rules

Original: Platforms' Violent Content Rules Are About to Meet The Pentagon's Firing Squad

Techdirt argues the Pentagon is about to push violent or military-related content onto social media platforms whose own policies prohibit such material, forcing companies to choose between enforcing their rules and accommodating the US military. The piece suggests this clash will expose inconsistency in how platforms moderate violent content depending on who posts it.

Why now: Ongoing debate about whether US government and military content receives special treatment under platform moderation policies.
