SPD urged to leave coalition with 'dead horse' Union
Original: @ dab Die # spd muss raus aus der Koalition. Die # union ist ein totes Pferd, das man nicht mehr reiten sollte. # Pistor
Commentators on the German left are calling on the SPD to exit its governing coalition with the CDU/CSU, arguing the Union under Friedrich Merz is a 'dead horse' that should no longer be ridden. Some suggest Boris Pistorius or Manuela Schwesig as alternative SPD leadership candidates, claiming only a break with the Union can still stop the AfD before the next election.
Why now: Frustration with Merz's coalition is growing among SPD supporters who fear continued cooperation strengthens the AfD.
