Flydubai co-pilot plotted Tel Aviv airport suicide attack, UAE says

Original: Flydubai co-pilot plotted suicide attack on Tel Aviv airport, UAE says

UAE authorities say a Flydubai co-pilot was plotting a suicide attack at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport. The allegation against an employee of the Gulf carrier, announced by Emirati officials, has drawn attention given the airline's regular flights to Israel and the countries' normalised ties. Details about the suspect's identity, motive and how the plot was uncovered have not been fully disclosed.

Why now: The UAE's accusation against one of its own airline pilots amid heightened Israel-Gulf tensions is a striking security and diplomatic development.
