Flydubai co-pilot plotted Tel Aviv airport attack, UAE says
Original: Flydubai co-pilot plotted suicide attack on Tel Aviv airport, UAE says
UAE authorities say a Flydubai co-pilot was plotting a suicide attack targeting Tel Aviv's airport, according to a Gulf Business report. The alleged plot raises serious questions about airline crew vetting and aviation security between the UAE and Israel, and is likely to prompt scrutiny of how the individual was recruited or radicalised while employed by the Dubai-based carrier.
Why now: A terrorism allegation against a serving airline crew member on a Tel Aviv route threatens aviation security and UAE-Israel ties.
