More than 500 trees are set to be removed at a Washington, D.C. golf club that President Trump wants to renovate. The plan is drawing attention because the club sits on federal park land, raising questions about the use of public resources for a private-facing project and the environmental cost of the large-scale tree removal.
Why now: The scale of the tree removal and Trump's personal involvement in the renovation are fueling debate over public land use.
