City-building game where the city resists you
Original: A city-building game in which the city would prefer you didn't
A satirical browser game lets players try to build a city while the city itself pushes back against every decision. The premise inverts the usual city-builder formula: instead of the player shaping a willing metropolis, the metropolis would rather the player stop building entirely. Players are sharing it as a witty take on housing politics and bureaucratic resistance to new construction.
Why now: It is a clever satirical take on housing shortages and NIMBY resistance that resonates with current debates.
