DOJ Investigates TV Networks Over Trump Pool Coverage

Major US television networks were notified Friday that the Department of Justice is investigating whether they violated antitrust law when they suspended pool coverage of Trump. The move is drawing sharp criticism from commentators, who describe the inquiry as an absurd use of the justice department against press organisations over editorial decisions about covering the president.
Why now: The justice department opening an antitrust investigation into how networks cover the president is seen as an unprecedented pressure on the press.
