IMDb users mock forced migration to Amazon accounts
Original: Why would I want to 'migrate' my IMDB account to Amazon Jeff, I thought you lads were against Migration? # TechBros # Mi
Amazon is pressing IMDb users to migrate their accounts to Amazon logins, and some are pushing back with a political joke. One widely shared quip asks why Jeff Bezos's company wants people to 'migrate' when tech bosses are seen as opposing migration, tagging the complaint with 'TechBros'. Beyond the wordplay, the underlying grievance is familiar: users resent being forced onto a single company's login system and worry about consolidation of their accounts and data.
Why now: People are reacting to Amazon's account consolidation push, using the word 'migration' for satirical jabs at tech leaders' immigration politics.
