Texas community questions cooperation with ICE after driver shooting
Original: “If ICE is going to act with criminal impunity, why should we cooperate with them at all?” From Gaige Davila: Here's how
Journalist Gaige Davila reports on how a Texas community, local police and politicians responded after delivery driver Wilber Garces Perez was shot, prompting a public challenge to ICE: if the agency acts with criminal impunity, why should residents cooperate with it at all? Why now: The shooting of an immigrant delivery driver and criticism of ICE's conduct have reignited arguments over cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
