Open source gallery app offers no-fuss alternative to Google Photos
Original: This open source gallery app does what Google Photos won't: leave your pictures alone
An open source gallery app for Android is being highlighted as an alternative to Google Photos, with the pitch that it simply organizes and displays pictures without AI features, cloud syncing, or editing prompts. It appeals to users tired of photo services that push automatic processing and storage uploads. The app keeps photos stored locally and untouched, letting users manage their own libraries.
Why now: Ongoing user frustration with Google Photos' aggressive AI features and cloud prompts is driving interest in simpler, privacy-focused alternatives.
