A new educational initiative called AchvatOlam, meaning "global solidarity" in Hebrew, is being launched to teach Jewish history, cultures and languages outside of Israel. The school says it will engage with Hebrew and Israeli history from a non-Zionist perspective, and its website includes a page addressing Israel and related questions, prompting discussion about alternative approaches to Jewish education.
Why now: It offers a non-Zionist framing of Jewish education, a topic of active debate in Jewish communities.
