Austin's Hideout Theatre searches for new home after leaving downtown
Original: Austin's Hideout Theatre improvises in search for new space after leaving downtown
Austin's Hideout Theatre has left its downtown location and is now searching for a new space, as reported by KUT. The improv theatre, a fixture of the city's comedy scene, must find affordable space amid rising downtown costs, and its supporters are watching to see whether it can relocate and continue operating elsewhere in Austin.
Why now: The theatre's departure from downtown highlights Austin's rising costs and their impact on local arts venues.
