Original: They War-Gamed Dimming the Sun. It Went Even Worse Than You Think https:// fed.brid.gy/r/https://www.wire d.com/story/th
Wired reports on a simulation exercise in which participants war-gamed solar geoengineering—the deliberate dimming of sunlight to cool the planet—and found the scenario went worse than expected. The story examines how geopolitical tensions and governance gaps could derail any real-world attempt to deploy the controversial climate intervention, adding to ongoing debate among scientists and policymakers about whether the technology should ever be tested.
Why now: Solar geoengineering is a contentious climate topic, and a new war-game report with pessimistic findings is drawing attention.
