UN urges making inclusion a foundation, not an afterthought
Original: Rethinking inclusion: From afterthought to foundation
The United Nations is calling on governments and institutions to rethink inclusion, arguing it should be built into policy and society from the start rather than added later as an afterthought. The message frames accessibility and participation for marginalised groups as a foundational principle of sustainable development, prompting renewed discussion about how countries put that into practice.
Why now: The UN is pushing a renewed message on inclusive policy, drawing attention to how societies treat marginalised groups.
