Physical Intelligence Launches API Beta for Robot Models
Original: Physical Intelligence API Beta: Frontier Models for Every Robot
Robotics startup Physical Intelligence has opened a beta of its API, offering access to its frontier robot foundation models so developers can embed general-purpose control into a wide range of robotic hardware. The move signals a shift toward making robot intelligence available as a shared service, similar to how large language models are delivered today. It is drawing attention among developers and robotics researchers tracking the rise of generalist robot policies.
Why now: The launch makes advanced robot AI models accessible to outside developers for the first time, prompting debate about the future of robotics software.
