Physical Intelligence launches API beta for robot foundation models

Original: Physical Intelligence API Beta: Frontier Models for Every Robot

Physical Intelligence, a robotics AI startup, has opened a beta of an API giving developers access to its frontier robot foundation models, aiming to make advanced robot control capabilities available to any robot rather than a single proprietary platform. The announcement is drawing attention on developer forums, where people are weighing what general-purpose robot models could mean for automation and robotics startups.

Why now: Access to frontier generalist robot models through a simple API could lower the barrier to building capable robots, a major shift for the robotics industry.
