German police seize robot over alleged groping of teenager
Original: Robot seized by German police after allegedly groping teenage girl
German police have seized a robot after a teenage girl alleged that it groped her. The case, reported by the BBC, is drawing attention as an unusual example of physical robots interacting with the public and the legal questions that arise when a machine is implicated in an offence against a person.
Why now: The bizarre idea of police confiscating a robot as evidence in an assault allegation challenges usual assumptions about machines and criminal responsibility.
