Trump touts booming economy at Montana rally, but supporters feel the pinch
At a rally in Montana, President Trump praised the strength of the US economy, citing growth and job gains under his administration. Yet some of his own supporters in attendance told NBC News they are struggling with rising costs of living, saying the economic boom does not match their day-to-day experience. The gap between official economic messaging and voters' lived reality is drawing attention.
Why now: The disconnect between Trump's rosy economic message and his supporters' financial struggles is a timely tension as the economy remains a top voter concern.
