White House behind order limiting Starshield use in Ukraine, sources say
Original: Order to limit Starshield for Ukraine came from inside White House, sources say
A Reuters report citing sources says the directive to limit Ukraine's use of SpaceX's Starshield satellite service originated within the White House. The claim puts decision-making over battlefield satellite access at the centre of US policy toward Ukraine, raising questions about how the restriction was decided and who authorised it.
Why now: Fresh reporting attributes a politically sensitive restriction on US military satellite support for Ukraine directly to the White House.
