Global Desire to Move Permanently to U.S. Hits New Low
Original: Desire to Move Permanently to U.S. at New Low
A new Gallup poll finds the desire to migrate permanently to the United States has fallen to its lowest recorded level. The survey suggests fewer adults worldwide would want to settle permanently in the country, continuing a downward trend. Commenters are debating the reasons, pointing to tightened immigration policies, economic uncertainty and shifting perceptions of life in the U.S.
Why now: A major new Gallup finding on declining U.S. migration appeal has just been published and is being widely shared.
