Critics brace for Australia's response after settlers attack diplomats in West Bank
Original: Get ready for another "strongly worded statement for the cameras" from Penny Wong, Australia, and zero actions afterward
Israeli settlers reportedly attacked European diplomats, including Australian officials, during an olive harvest visit in the West Bank. Observers are openly mocking the expectation that Foreign Minister Penny Wong will issue only a strongly worded statement with no concrete follow-up, reflecting frustration with Australia's perceived inaction on Israeli settlement violence.
Why now: The attack on diplomats during the West Bank olive harvest has reignited criticism of Australia's diplomatic response to settler violence.
