Mexico City in the spotlight: Utopía opening, IMSS march, cold front
Original: ciudad de méxico
Mexico City is in the news on several fronts. Mayor Clara Brugada inaugurated Utopía La Soberana, described as the largest of the Utopía projects in the capital. The city is also bracing for a march by IMSS workers and pensioners heading to the Zócalo, one of nine demonstrations planned for October 21. Meanwhile, a cold front is bringing strong wind gusts to the city between October 17 and 18.
Why now: A high-profile mayoral inauguration, a major protest march and severe weather are all converging in the capital this week.
