IMSS workers march in Mexico City today
Original: ciudad de méxico
Workers and pensioners of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) are marching in Mexico City on Friday, with eight other demonstrations taking place elsewhere in the country. The protests come as a cold front brings strong wind gusts to the capital, with authorities forecasting rough weather between October 17 and 18. Protesters are demanding better pay and conditions for health personnel and retirees.
Why now: A coordinated day of IMSS-worker demonstrations across Mexico, happening amid a notable cold-front weather event in the capital.
