US ambassador demands prosecution of attackers on journalist in West Bank
Original: U.S. ambassador to Israel calls for "arrest and prosecution" of Heidi Levine's West Bank settler attackers
The U.S. ambassador to Israel has called for the arrest and prosecution of West Bank settlers who attacked American journalist Heidi Levine. The demand underscores growing U.S. concern over settler violence against journalists and civilians in the occupied West Bank, an issue that has drawn repeated international criticism and scrutiny of Israeli enforcement.
Why now: Attacks on an American journalist by settlers have drawn a rare public diplomatic demand from the U.S. ambassador.
