US ambassador demands arrest of settlers who attacked journalist Heidi Levine
Original: U.S. ambassador to Israel calls for "arrest and prosecution" of Heidi Levine's West Bank settler attackers
The U.S. ambassador to Israel has called for the arrest and prosecution of West Bank settlers who attacked American journalist Heidi Levine. The demand marks an unusually direct intervention over settler violence, an issue that has drawn growing international concern. The ambassador stressed those responsible must be held accountable, while details about the attack itself and Levine's condition were not immediately reported.
Why now: A senior US diplomat publicly demanding prosecution over an attack on an American journalist in the West Bank is rare and politically charged.
