US ambassador calls West Bank settler attack on American photojournalist 'terror'
Original: US ambassador to Israel calls West Bank settler attack on American photojournalist ‘terror’
The US ambassador to Israel has described an attack by West Bank settlers on an American photojournalist as 'terror'. The strong wording from a senior US official is notable given the American government's usual careful language on settler violence, and it has drawn attention to attacks on journalists in the occupied West Bank.
Why now: A senior US diplomat's unusually strong 'terror' label on settler violence against an American journalist is striking amid ongoing tensions in the West Bank.
