'Disavow the Brotherhood' jokes spread online
Original: "Disavow the Brotherhood" jokes
A joking phrase urging people to 'disavow the Brotherhood' is circulating widely on social media, drawing roughly 2,500 engagements. The references are framed humorously rather than as serious political statements, though the wording echoes real calls for groups or movements to formally distance themselves from controversial affiliates. Commentary so far consists mainly of memes and playful variations on the phrase.
Why now: The phrase is being riffed on for comedic effect as it spreads across political social media circles.
