Steam Users Demand 'No AI' Filter as Next Fest Fills With AI Games
Original: Steam Users Beg for "No AI" Filter as Vibecoders Flood Next Fest
Steam players are calling on Valve to add a filter that hides games made with generative AI, arguing that February's Steam Next Fest demo event has been flooded with low-effort, AI-generated titles. Critics say the sheer volume of AI-made games is making it harder to discover genuine indie projects, and many want a toggle similar to existing content filters so they can browse the storefront without them.
Why now: Steam Next Fest has drawn attention to a wave of AI-generated games, reigniting debate over whether Valve should let users filter them out.
