Steam Users Call for 'No AI' Filter During Next Fest
Original: Steam Users Beg for "No AI" Filter as Vibecoders Flood Next Fest
Steam players are asking Valve to add a filter that hides games made with generative AI, arguing that the latest Steam Next Fest has been flooded with low-effort AI-generated titles. Critics say these 'vibecoded' projects crowd out games made by human developers, and many are sharing lists of suspicious entries or avoiding the fest's demo pages altogether. Valve has so far only required AI disclosure, not filtering options.
Why now: Steam Next Fest is running and its demo listings are visibly crowded with AI-generated games, reigniting frustration over Valve's disclosure-only policy.
