Iran Security Chief Rejects Moving Enriched Uranium Abroad
Original: Iran Security Chief Rejects Moving Enriched Uranium Out Of Country
Iran's top security official has ruled out transferring the country's stockpile of enriched uranium to a third country, rejecting an idea floated in negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program. The stance signals red lines in ongoing diplomacy, with Western powers seeking verifiable limits on Iran's nuclear activities. Observers say the refusal complicates efforts to reach an agreement over Iran's enriched material and future enrichment capability.
Why now: Iran's nuclear file is again at the center of international diplomacy, and this hard-line statement signals the country's negotiating position.
