Democratic fundraising texts spark spam complaints
Original: Democratic fundraising text spam
Voters are complaining about a flood of unsolicited fundraising text messages from Democratic Party committees and campaign committees. Recipients describe repeated donation appeals sent even after they reply STOP, calling the messages spam and saying the volume has intensified. Critics say the tactic risks alienating supporters, while the party continues to rely on small-dollar texting drives as a core fundraising channel.
Why now: People are actively receiving the barrage of donation texts and venting about the intrusive fundraising tactics.
