Xbox proposes hourly fees for streaming games players already own
Original: Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you bought
Microsoft's Xbox is floating a pricing model under which players would pay roughly 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games they have already purchased. The idea has drawn heavy criticism from gamers, who argue it effectively charges people repeatedly for content they bought outright and pushes cloud gaming toward metered, utility-style billing.
Why now: Gamers are reacting to the perceived unfairness of paying ongoing hourly fees to access games they already own.
