Original: Color Names
A web tool that produces a human-readable name for any color picked or entered has drawn attention among developers and designers. The free service assigns playful, descriptive names to millions of colors, extending earlier projects that named a fixed palette of shades. Users are sharing the amusing or oddly fitting names it generates for everyday colors.
Why now: People enjoy testing the tool with their own colors and sharing the funny or surprisingly accurate names it produces.
