Warhound raises $200M to engineer war dogs with Anduril gear
Original: Warhound raises $200M to engineer war dogs and arm them with Anduril gear
Ben Lamm has raised $200 million for Warhound, a new venture that aims to genetically engineer war dogs and equip them with hardware from defense technology firm Anduril. The announcement, covered by TechCrunch, draws attention for combining biotech-style animal engineering with military applications, echoing Lamm's earlier work on de-extinction at Colossal Biosciences.
Why now: The unusual fusion of gene-edited animals and autonomous defense hardware from a high-profile founder is drawing debate about ethics and military biotech.
