The argument that we are living in a 1970 sci-fi film
Original: We are all living inside of an obscure sci-fi film from 1970
An essay argues that everyday life increasingly resembles the world imagined in a little-known science fiction film from 1970, drawing a comparison between the movie's vision and contemporary reality. The piece has drawn attention among readers debating how accurately older speculative fiction predicted today's technology, politics and culture, and which obscure films deserve more recognition.
Why now: Readers are drawn to the nostalgic and provocative claim that a neglected fifty-year-old film anticipated the present.
