Trump administration asks Washington to set aside ballots over noncitizen claims
Original: Trump administration asks Washington to set aside hundreds of ballots from suspected noncitizen voters https://www. theg
The Trump administration has asked Washington state to set aside hundreds of ballots from voters it suspects are noncitizens. The move escalates a dispute between federal officials and Washington election authorities, who have previously pushed back on claims of widespread voting by noncitizens. The request is likely to draw legal challenges and renewed debate over election integrity ahead of voting.
Why now: It feeds the ongoing national controversy over election integrity and federal-state clashes over voting rules
