Trump says he will ban use of the phrase 'artificial intelligence'
Original: Trump says he will ban everyone from using the phrase 'artificial intelligence'
US President Donald Trump says he will ban everyone from using the phrase 'artificial intelligence'. The remark, reported by The Independent, drew immediate mockery and confusion online, with commenters debating whether the statement was serious, a joke, or another rhetorical flourish. Many pointed out the irony of restricting a term central to US technology policy and global competition in AI.
Why now: The absurdity of a proposed ban on a word, coming from a sitting president, makes it widely shared and debated.
