Commenters warn of a rising 'psychopatriarchy' everywhere
Original: We are seeing the rise of psychopatriarchy everywhere
A Guardian opinion piece argues that 'psychopatriarchy' — a fusion of patriarchal power and destructive, coercive behaviour — is spreading across politics and society worldwide. The author claims this mindset fuels racism, colonialism, imperialism and capitalism, linking misogyny to broader systems of domination. Readers are debating whether the framing captures a real political shift or overstates the case.
Why now: The provocative concept and its sweeping claims about power, gender and politics invite debate about growing authoritarian and misogynistic trends.
