16colo.rs archive preserves ANSI and ASCII art
Original: 16colo.rs – ANSI/ASCII art archive
16colo.rs, a website dedicated to archiving ANSI and ASCII text art, is drawing attention from the Hacker News community. The site collects retro text-based artwork from the bulletin board system era, preserving thousands of pieces created with plain characters in the 1980s and 1990s. Enthusiasts are discussing the collection and revisiting a niche digital art form that predates modern graphics.
Why now: Nostalgia for retro computing and digital art history is driving renewed interest in preserved text-mode artwork.
