Original: 16colo.rs – ANSI/ASCII art archive
16colo.rs, a website dedicated to preserving ANSI and ASCII text art, is drawing attention online. The archive collects artwork made entirely from text characters, a creative form that flourished on bulletin board systems in the 1980s and 1990s. Enthusiasts are sharing the collection and reminiscing about the early computing era it documents.
Why now: Nostalgia for retro computing and early internet art culture is driving renewed interest in the archive.
