Italian grassroots union Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) has called a 24-hour general strike in Italy, with protests planned across the country. The action coincides with an international dockworkers' strike on Friday, in which workers in 22 countries are walking out to protest against war and the use of ports for arms shipments.
Why now: The strike is part of a coordinated international day of action by dockworkers and unions against arms shipments and the war.
